Causes Of Canon Printer Error 6000 

  • This issue occurs when the paper feed tray of printer prevents its opening when something gets blocked in it. It may be dust particles or paper pieces.
  • Error Code 6000 also may arise when the tray is not correctly fitted in the tray.
  • Also, this error may occur when we try to give a multiple paper print command at a single time.
  • Sometimes, it may also appear on your system, when the printer is surrounded by lots of documents.
  • The line feed is either scratched or smeared.
  • This error also arises, when any defect arises in the sensor unit or in-line-feed slit.

Solutions To Fix Canon Printer Error 6000 

Method 1. Procedure To Clean The Paper Feed Roller 

* For Windows 

  • Firstly, make sure that your printer is turned On. After that, remove if there is any paper from the rear tray.
  • After that, open the printer properties dialogue box using the procedure that may vary according to your Operating System.
    • First of all, press the windows and X key altogether from your keyboard.
    • Then, type “Control Panel” in the search box and press the enter key.
    • Next, select “Devices and Printers”.
    • As a result, devices and printer window will appear on your screen. 
    • Right-click on the listing of your printer and select “Printing Preferences” from the menu that appears.
  • Thereafter, click the maintenance tab and then “Roller Cleaning” tab.
  • Subsequently, you need to confirm the message and click on the “Ok” tab. 
  • As a result, the paper feed roller will rotate as they clean.
  • Next, you need to make sure that the paper feed roller stops rotating. After that, when the message appears, load three or more sheets of A-4 sized plain paper in portrait orientation in the rear tray. Here, you have to set the paper thickness lever to the right. 
  • Then, confirm the displayed message and click on the “Ok” button.
  • As a result, the paper that is loaded in the printer will feed through the printer and can be ejected. It is recommended not to perform any other operation while the paper feed roller is being cleaned. 
  • Finally, you need to confirm the displayed message and click on the “Ok” tab.

If still you are facing this problem, turn off the printer, unplug the power plug. After that, wipe the paper feed roller located on the right side inside the rear tray with the moistened cotton swab. Then, rotate the roller manually as you clean it. Do not touch the paper feed roller with your fingers, rotate it with the cotton swab.

* For Mac 

  • Firstly, make sure that your printer is turned On. After that, remove if there is any paper from the rear tray.
  • Then, open the paper output tray gently, and extend to open the output tray extension.
  • After that, open the Canon Printer IJ utility. 
  • For that, open “system preferences” and click “print and fax”. After this, select your printer’s name in Printers and click “Open Print Queue”.Now, click the Utility/ Printer setup icon. Then, select your printer name in the product list and click “maintenance”.
  • After that, you need to clean the paper feed roller. For that, make sure that cleaning is selected in the pop-up menu. Then, click on “Roller Cleaning”. Now, select the paper source to clean. Next, click on “Ok”. As a result, the paper feed roller will rotate as it is cleaned.
  • Next, you need to make sure that the paper feed roller stops rotating. After that, when the message appears, load three or more sheets of A-4 sized plain paper in portrait orientation in the rear tray. Here, you have to set the paper thickness lever to the right.

Method 2.

  • If the line feed is either scratched or smeared, you need to simply clean the LF or EJ slit film with a noncorrosive solution.

Method 3.

  • In case, if there is any stuck particles, debris or foreign object in the LF drive, remove the jammed object properly. 

Method 4. Procedure To Delete Print Jobs From The Print Queue 

  • Firstly, press the windows and R key altogether from your keyboard.
  • Thereafter, in the Run box, type “services.msc”. Click on the “Ok” tab.
  • As a result, the services window will appear. Here, you need to scroll down to the Print Spooler. Then, right-click on it and click on “Stop”.
  • Once again press the windows and R key altogether from your keyboard. 
  • After that, in the run box, type “spool” and click on “Ok”.
  • Now, type “%systemroot%\System32\spool\printers and then press the enter key.
  • Next, select all of the files by holding ctrl and a key altogether.
  • After that, press the “delete” key to delete all of the files.
  • Then, after deleting all the files, close the spool folder.
  • After this, go back to the services window. Now, right-click on the “Print Spooler Service” folder and click on the “Start” button.

Method 5.

The defective part of the printer may include LF and EJ slit film. It may also include a timing sensor unit, the paper feed roller unit, and the logic board.
